At the beginning of October, the collection developed in collaboration with Hay has finally arrived in the Ikea stores.
Hay is a Danish company founded in 2002 but already among the most well-known Nordic design companies.
From the collaboration between the two Scandinavian giants Ypperlig was born, a collection of about 35 objects characterized by soft colors, clean lines and high quality. The collection, ranging from pieces of furniture to small accessories such as vases and candle holders, wants to celebrate simplicity through a contemporary but timeless design.
A collection that brings with it the Scandinavian style in the choice of design and materials and the contemporary production techniques. Ikea and Hay seem to have complemented each other in this collaboration: the first is strong in production and distribution, while Hay has brought its strong creativity and passion for design.
Highlight of the collection is the sofa bed: minimalist style but maximum comfort because the seat is a real spring mattress.
The table is a reinterpretation of a classic Scandinavian tradition, a table made of wooden boards. They used a wood panel for the top combined with solid wood legs for maximum stability and an extremely durable table.
The chairs of the Ypperlig collection are made with an injection mold that is filled in 30 seconds with a liquid plastic injection: the result is a durable but lightweight product.
The collection includes an incredibly slim LED lamp, with an integrated touch dimmer that allow to adjust the light intensity with a simple touch.
The collection also includes a restyling of Ikea’s most iconic object: the frakta bag, the mythical blue and yellow shopping bag. Material and measures stay the same but Hay wanted to give their own touch in the choice of color and patterns.
I’ve already gone to Ikea, what are you waiting for?
