As you will realize by following this blog, gray has been my favorite color for interiors for years (after white of course). But this year a new color trend has come and got me questioning everything: the Denim Drift!
The Denim Drift is a dusty blue, a desaturated blue color that has been chosen as color of 2017 for interior by the Global Aesthetic Center of AkzoNobel, a group of industry experts, architects and interior designers who gather each year to define the trends of the industry .
Why do I like so much? Maybe because it has of drop of gray inside or because I find it an extremely chic and elegant color (like all blue tones) but at the same relaxed and not pretentious. But the reason I like it so much is that it matches perfectly with so many colors, neutral beige and gray tones, pastel colors like pink or even more colorful colors like yellow or orange. In short, a versatile color.
Like all blue tones, denim drift is a cool color so I like the combinations that can warm up the atmosphere.
The ideal matching is with natural materials and fabrics (primarily wood, then fabrics such as cotton, linen, but also leather or velvet), and if we add a rich and bright touch like some gold or copper accessory we got a perfect result”!
If you like bright colors, try to match it with yellow or peachy accessories and complements … a cool and fresh combination!
Since I like this color so much, I’ve also prepared a special selection of denim drift color products!
1. Ferm Living – Recor lamp 2. Ikea – Soderhamn sofa
3. Ferm Living – Hexagon vase 4. Fine Little Day – pillow
5. Normann Copenaghen – Form chair 6. Menu – Bottle Salt & Pepper grinder
7. Muuto – Varjo carpet 8. Normann Copenaghen – Cube duvet cover

I really hope that denim drift will continue to be trendy next year … but in the meantime I’m already falling in love with another color and I’ll soon talk about it on the blog.
