When design pays hommage to art masters

Designers, both fashion designers and product/interiors designers, often take inspiration from art and painters.
Sometimes they take inspiration from the colors used by an artist, other times from the shapes or the style of an artir, others from the world evoked by the painter.

Today I want to talk you about Notoo Studio, a young Italian creative laboratory specialized in the production of 3D and photographic images, installation and set design.
They created Inside Art a project that pays homage to art masters like Escher and De Chirico.

“Inside Art is an artistic project that starts from the idea of recreating a purely two-dimensional world in 3D. The concept behind it is to bring back to life the style, shapes and colors that inspired the artist, thus creating a completely conceptual space where abstract work comes into contact with design and contemporary furnishings. We wanted to give our interpretation of the paintings of artists such as Giorgio De Chirico, Mondrian, Magritte and Giorgio Morandi, bringing their style into the world of 3D, and creating dreamlike but at the same time contemporary environments that would allow a total immersion in the world of the painters” says the Studio.

Let’s see from which art masters they were inspired.

INSIDE ART – GIORGIO DE CHIRICO

Giorgio de Chirico is represented through his geometric shapes, bold colors and metaphysical spaces.

INSIDE ART – ESCHER

Escher’s impossible constructions come to life in a three-dimensional environment suspended in space and time where furnishing becomes a constant reminder of metaphysics.

INSIDE ART – MAGRITTE

Like in the works of the surrealist artist, the unusual combinations of element are used to enhance common objects through their decontextualization.

INSIDE ART – PIET MONDRIAN

The bold colors and geometric lines of Mondrian’s painting become an integral part of the space.

INSIDE ART – GIORGIO MORANDI

Morandi’s monochromatic colors and warm lights play a fundamental role in the space and take us into rural and traditional environments.
