The new IKEA 2021 catalog was released on August 21st. It is a special edition because this year the Ikea’s catalog turns 70!
Did you know that, by diffusion, the catalog is the second publication after the Bible?!? It seems incredible but it is true, just think that it is published in 50 countries around the world.
On the Ikea’s website you can already browse it in pdf format. I looked at it carefully from top to bottom, focusing in particular on the new proposals and here I selected my 10 favorite new products.
The first novelty concerns the IVAR modular system, one of Ikea’s historical lines (it turns 50 this year) and one of my favorites. The novelty are the new intertwined bamboo doors. Aren’t they beautiful?
About IVAR, there are also new doors and accessories in gray metal with an industrial look.
The FRÖSET armchair is officially in my wishlist! I love it!
Another interesting novelty is the ENHET metal system, with options for both the kitchen and the bathroom.
This system allows you to create a more flexible kitchen that can be easily assembled and customized. In fact, you can combine doors, different colors, combine open elements or furniture with doors and drawers to have your unique kitchen. The red trolley is really nice and useful.
I instantly fell in love with the new VOXLÖVT table. The table is made of bamboo and the peculiarity is the design of the legs. Bentwood is a typical expression of Scandinavian design!
Finally a new bed with a more classic line. Ikea is following the trends of velvet and enveloping lines with the TUFJORD bed.
This is a very interesting novelty: it is the new BOAXEL modular system to create your own made-to-measure walk-in closet at a low cost. It and can be modified over time according to needs. The system consists of wall uprights and shelves in two sizes plus numerous accessories, such as boxes, drawers, trouser rails etc.
The LISABO chair completes the collection that already included a dining table and coffee tables. I really like the simple line and the handcrafted style finish.
In the table and kitchen department, the novelty is the GLADELIG dinnerware line: I really like the glazed surface with a sandblasted finish that gives it a nice “artisan” look.
Which one is your favorite new product?
