The store occupies an historical building on Götgatan, one of the main shopping streets in the Södermalm district of Stockholm.
The store was designed with the aim of giving the user a new shopping experience: “Instead of funnelling the visitor through a pre-set customer journey, the new store leaves the customer to make decisions,” said the studio, “The interior invites exploration and generates surprise encounters with key pieces and styles.“
There are two main characteristics of this beautiful space: the color and above all the mix of materials and textures.
Pink is the main color in this space: pale pink is used for walls, curtains in dressing rooms and chairs (such as the Isla sofas designed by Note Design Studio for Sancal) and, in contrast, bubblegum-coloured neon arrows direct customers to different departments.
But the distinctive feature of the space are the materials: an original but perfect mix that combines wood, marble, colored glass, metal and terrazzo-style vinyl surfaces. A different texture is also associated with each material, making the store a true “showcase of materiality and tactility”.
To complete the shopping experience, a café has also been opened on the third floor, furnished with salmon-colored Tonella armchairs designed by Note Design Studio for Sancal.
