This year too, my favorite trend in Christmas decorations continues to be what we can call natural style with the addition of some touches of gold / brass.
It is a trend that started last year (in fact I talked about it here) and that, lucky me, seems to continue this year.
A trend that comes from the Scandinavian countries and reflects the Lagom style that everybody has recently talked about. Lagom is a Swedish word that literally means the “right quantity” but that indicates a philosophy of life where you are invited to moderation, to avoid excesses and exaggeration, both in behavior and in clothing or in home decor. In practice, it also indicates a lifestyle based on social awareness, moderation and environmental sustainability.
A Christmas in the name of simplicity, of the less is more and of recycling, with delicate decorations that are still able to create an intimate and cozy atmosphere. The ingredients? Decorations made with natural materials, such as dry branches, pine branches, pine cones, berries, eucalyptus … but with the addition of some elements in gold or brass (such as tree decorations, candle holders, cutlery ) to remind us that we are at Christmas anyway. Lights and candles are also a must have!
I have prepared two moodboards, one dedicated to the house decoration and one more focused on the table setting, from which, I hope, you can take some inspiration.
Moodboard 1 – Home décor
Moodboard 2 – Table décor
And since I haven’t prepared any GET THE LOOK for a while, I thought this was a good occasion. So I imagined how to decorate a house in a natural style for Christmas. What do you think?
