Ideas for creating an office corner at home

In recent weeks, due to the crisis caused by Covid that we are facing, almost all of us are forced to stay home (it is our duty). Most people are now working from home and had to improvise an office corner. Some are lucky enough to have a studio at home but many, like myself, live in small apartments and have probably found themselves working on the dining table.

In this post I therefore thought of giving you some ideas and inspiration to create an office corner even in small spaces.

If for example you have a niche, with simple shelves and a top, you can create a functional and cozy office space that will not clutter.

Or we can take advantage of an empty corner or a small bare wall: in this case too, just hang a shelf that will become your desk. It will not be very spacious but at least you will know where to place your PC a place and keep the dining table free.

Or you can reuse an old console or vintage table that you already have at home and using it as your smarworking station.

Another convenient solution, which guarantees minimum encumbrance, is that of the foldable wall desks, such as those you see in these photos (if you are looking for one, those of the French brand HARTO are my favorites)

A desk can also be improvised by simply using two trestles and a shelf. Some brands, such as Ikea, also offer very narrow desks that can also be reused as a console, to be placed for example at the entrance of the house.

My favorite solution, however, is that of the shelves systems, which can be modulated as needed.

First of all, I like them because visually they are very light and elegant. The work surface, despite being deeper, camouflages itself with the other shelves and the final effect is that of a real bookcase. This makes them perfect for creating an office corner in the living room.

Below I will show you the brands that I think have the most beautiful systems.

I will start with an icon which have been on my wishlist for long now: the STRING system

FRAMA – DK3

LUNDIA – SWEDESE

If you are looking for a cheaper option, this IKEA system is very nice.
