Today’s home tour takes us to Elizabeth Heier’s home, a talented interior designer, stylist and blogger based in Oslo.
The motto behind the choice of colors and furnishings seems to be “less is more”. Natural materials, neutral colors and minimal furnishings are the characteristics of this apartment. The flat is a true example of minimalist style and clean design can create a cozy and relaxing environment especially.
The choice of neutral colors and the predominance of white enhance the magnificent wooden floor and the original details such as ceiling stucco. Choosing white as the main color also allows to better reflect the light that enters from the large and beautiful windows (light that in a city like Oslo can be a real issue).
I also like the choice of a black kitchen (read here) and of the black color of the stove. The contrast of colors emphasizes a traditional element like the stove, adds a touch of personality to the living area and seems to visually separate the kitchen area from the rest of the living room.
The furnishing is minimal, but full of design pieces: from the Eames plastic chair of Vitra, to the Bertoia chair in Knoll, to the lamps of Gubi and &tradition. Minimal style but with attention to detail.
So if you wish to move into an apartment like this, you need to know that the house is now up for sale!
