10 design shops to visit in Berlin

For today’s post, I decided to write a list of 10 of my favorite design shops in Berlin.

Berlin is a city that I have learned to love (apart from the weather!) and that surprises me every time I visit it. Maybe it is because I have a special tourist guide that brings me around to discover new neighborhoods and hidden corners of the city. She is Bree (nickname for Maria Brigida) and she is one of my dearest friends who moved there few years back. With her help, I have prepared a list of the most beautiful and innovative design shops in Berlin.

It was not easy to select only 10 because Berlin attracts artists, stylists, architects and creatives of all kinds from all over the world and it is therefore no surprise that there are many design shops, showrooms and concept stores.

So, here is my list of 10 design shops to visit in Berlin.

1 – HAUSEN

Hausen in Friedrichshain is a shop specialized in Scandinavian design. In the shop you will find everything: lamps, decorations, blankets, rugs, tableware of the main Nordic brands such as Hay, Ferm Living, Woud, String, Design Letters and Fine Little Days.

2 – GREEN LIVING

A 350-square-meter showroom located in a former brewery in the Prenzlauer Berg district. Green Living selects products and furniture that, in addition to having a beautiful design, are made of natural or recycled materials and produced in a sustainable way. The founder’s philosophy is in fact to consider the entire life cycle of a product. This means not only the use of eco-friendly, non-toxic or recycled materials, produced in a sustainable way, but also that the product could be recycled once it is out of use. For example, we can find Woodnotes carpets made of paper yarn, Riva1920 furniture that uses only naturally fallen tree woods or Tojo ecological furniture. Green Living also offers a consultancy service with its team of interior architects, carpenters, interior decorators and light designers.

In addition to these products, the concept store also sells products of renowned brands such as Mariage Frères, Vilac, Mauviel, Theresienthal, Deyrolle and products of young international brands such as Nailmatic, Candylab Toys, Minois, Astier de Villate and many others.
